Waaaaah. The British Museum is running an exhibit on Hadrian. I have always had a soft spot for him, probably because it always made me giggle that he was known as "Graeculus" (I went through a phase in high school, though somehow I never got around to reading the Yourcenar novel). And of course I hardly remember anything about him now, but I did get to see Hadrian's Villa once, so I have no real right to complain. Still...

I remember that I really liked Mémoires d'Hadrian, and yet I have pretty much absolutely no idea at all what was in it anymore. It's sad that my undergrad years cost so much and pretty much all it got me (besides a husband) is the ability to say, "Yeah, I read that. It was pretty good, I think."

Hee. I feel that way about most of my undergrad experiences, too. I suppose that's why they always told us we were "learning how to think," because we probably wouldn't remember most of the details!
