Maxine Peake Hamlet - US screenings
I just idly happened to check what might be going on at my local independent cinema and discovered that they were screening Maxine Peake's Hamlet this Monday, so if you live in the US, you might want to check yours too, as it looks like they are finally doing some US screenings:

Ooh! Obviously, none of them is even remotely near where I live, but perhaps this means there's a chance of a region 1 DVD release.

Of course, if this comes out on DVD and so does the one the RSC is screening, I will own eleven film versions of Hamlet, which is surely a sign of some sort of mental disorder...

Nah, one can never have too many Hamlets! Anyway, collecting them is probably an occupational hazard. :)

Just as long as none of them is the Ethan Hawke version. I do draw the line somewhere.

Heh. I saw that in the theater with my best friend, and we basically started laughing as soon as the Ghost more or less emerged/faded back into a Pepsi machine, and couldn't stop.
