I may have just watched "The Eleventh Hour" as well. What is wrong with me???

Seriously, though? I think I could watch the first fifteen to twenty minutes of that episode every day. "We had to move to England; it's rubbish." "Do I even look like people?" Oh, I do love it so.

And I love the bait-and-switch that starts the episode off; it looks like another London-centric season, another possible crash into Big Ben--and then, nope, it's on to Leadworth, and the biggest thing to be crashed into is a shed in a little girl's garden.

Also, those of you with more finely attuned ears--can you tell me? Is Amy doing an English accent in that first scene with Eleven, after the cricket bat and up through "Why did you say five minutes?" It wavers in and out, but it sounds like she might be, to me. Which, if true, makes me love her even more.

Yes, Amy does an English accent up until "why did you say five minutes?" I remember being really confused at that, because I'd been told the new companion was Scottish, and I knew that this redhead had to be grown-up Amelia, because who else could she be?

Thank you! I was beginning to wonder if I was hearing things. I don't remember what I thought the first time I saw the episode, but I didn't know what Karen Gillan was supposed to sound like, back then.

I'm right with you about the first fifteen minutes of the Eleventh hour. I fell fast for Eleven and Wee Amelia. Just warm my heart, although, I know other than showing that the Auntie was a complete monster, it would have bee irresponsible for Amelia to travel with the Doctor, and I like Amy and her story as well.

I'm watching Being Human again; it was wonderful and sad, and we're not supposed to like mass murdering Mitchell, but I still wanted him to get Kemp.

I'll ask my Brit co-workers about the accent if I run into them this week.

Yes--while it's heartbreaking that Amelia pins her hopes on the Doctor and has them dashed, it would have been a real mistake for the Doctor to try to take care of a little girl!
