these are the things I dream about, apparently.
(I suppose this should more properly be a "Silence in the Library" icon, but I don't have one of those. And anyway, the books were never in danger in those episodes...)

Last night I fell asleep--while I was supposed to have been reading, naturally--and had a dream in which my mother was trying to sell our house, and she had someone come to inspect it. While the inspector was looking around in my room, he noticed that moths had deposited eggs in the corners of all my bookcases, and were preparing to eat my books! It was very worrisome, even if my mother laughed at my panic in the dream.

In other book news, there's a new(ish) book out in a series that I loved when I read it recently. The bad news is that it's about a character I loathe and despise. To give you a clue as to the magnitude of this emotion, the later discovery that this character adores Shakespeare--fanboys him, even--did nothing at all to cause my hatred to abate. I'm just saying. Hate. And there are so many characters in this world I'd love to read about, too.

Wasn't the Vashta thingies growing in the books?
The Books were the danger. Little things growing in the forest of words ready to devour us.... So many volumes, so little time.

I'm always afraid of ending up like that Twilight Zone episode.

The books *were* the danger! But even Steven Moffat can't make me afraid of books. :)

Which Twilight Zone episode, if I may ask?

I had to look it up, it's been ages: Time Enough To Last, with Burgess Meridith.

Thanks! I'll have to see if I can find that one.
