I feel like other people need to share my pain.
Remember that CW show about Mary, Queen of Scots that was in the works? It looks like it's actually a thing now:

I really can't understand why that one lady-in-waiting seems to be wearing a tribal-print peasant skirt, but whatever. Also, poor Megan Followes.

(Also also, "Bash"? "Lola"? "Aylee"? Who is *naming* these characters?)

Okay, this looks dreadful. But I will be watching it.

I'm not sure I can make myself. Maybe if I had roommates or someone who would join me!

Ah, I am actually incapable of resisting terrible television. See: Teen Wolf.
tempestsarekindtempestsarekind on May 29th, 2013 09:41 pm (UTC)
I think terrible television tends to make me angry, so then I don't enjoy it! Unless I have people to help me make fun of it.

I am kind of easy for TV, so things slide into "so bad they're good" quite quickly for me. I think it's because I didn't really watch TV until I was ~13.
tempestsarekindtempestsarekind on May 29th, 2013 09:51 pm (UTC)
Fair enough! I have shows that I like even though they're objectively Not That Great; I just have a hard time with shows that I'm just watching *because* they're bad. If that makes sense. (Though I watched a *lot* of One Tree Hill just so I could read funny recaps.)

I tend to use the shows I watch that are dreadful (and that I watch because they're dreadful) as knitting!TV. I don't have to pay any attention, and I might get a laugh, but they're basically background noise/light. (I too watched a lot of One Tree Hill, and mostly for the funny recaps. Is it still going? Why do I feel like One Tree Hill is still airing?)
tempestsarekindtempestsarekind on May 30th, 2013 03:01 am (UTC)
I don't *think* it's still airing, but given that every time I saw a commercial for the show, my reaction was, "...wait, that's still on?" I honestly can't be sure!
melancholy in the rainliseuse on May 30th, 2013 12:41 pm (UTC)
Apparently it is no longer airing. Well, new episodes anyway. I am sure numerous TV channels are still showing the old ones.

Yes - terrible TV shows never really die. :)

I've got to the point where I read a lot of funny recaps for shows I don't even watch. I consider them an art form in their own right. :-)
tempestsarekindtempestsarekind on May 30th, 2013 03:01 am (UTC)
That is true. :)

Ahaha, yes, I do this too. I watched the first season of Revenge, and then gave up and just started reading the TWoP recaps. Much more pleasing.

Oh, CW. Whenever there's the chance to do something clunky and tasteless and stupid, you do it.
tempestsarekindtempestsarekind on May 29th, 2013 09:33 pm (UTC)
That should be the network motto. :)

Cold comfort, but comfort nonetheless! :)

...wow. That makes the Borgia Incest Hour look a whole lot better by comparison.

Oh, man, The Borgias. I just finished watching season 2, but I've heard some things about season 3 that make me think I might just quit while I'm ahead. Besides, there wasn't enough Holliday Grainger in season 2, anyway. :)

There is never enough Holliday Grainger for my liking. ;) It is sort of failtastic at points in the third season, but there is more of her, so that's a good thing? I don't know.

It's a bit of a toss-up, I suppose!
