I have discovered the problem with my life. It doesn't include these.
Seriously, I am overcome with darlingness.

I am even starting a new tag for them.

I want a reason to have a party with cookies like these! (of course, someone else would have to make them, since I can't bake anything more difficult than apple crisp...) I know they are supposed to be pirate hats, but there are all sorts of excuses to break out a tricorne hat, right?

In my world, we call those hamantashen. Except that I never thought of using Reeses' PB cups as fillings, or covering the filling over with more dough. I'll have to try that.

I've discovered I'm not nearly imaginative enough when it comes to baked goods! It would never occur to me to imagine hat-shaped cookies.

My ancestors were imaginative! I just follow tradition. :D

Any tradition that involves cookies is probably a good one. :)

My very first thought! (Also, OMG your icon.)

OOOOOOOH. Someone with more talent in icing than me could put little feathers on them or something! Or one could probably find little edible things to stick on. I can bake the hell out of delicious things, but only if nobody minds that they do not look ideally picturesque. There was this chocolate-peppermint cake I insisted was "mudslide cake" once... Anyway, these actually look simple enough that even I couldn't mess them up too badly! Plus, MELTY CHOCOLATE THINGS IN THE MIDDLE.

...yep, the lack of these is definitely the problem with my life also.

Exactly! They are adorable, but then there's also a surprise peanut butter cup! What's not to love?

Reason for a party: Marathon weekend watching Jack Sparrow with friends?

Always a possibility! Though I still haven't seen John Adams, either...

Ooh, you've just reminded me--our mascot, while not a pirate, definitely wore a tricorne hat! There--now if I ever have a reunion party of some sort, I can make these with a clear conscience. :)
